The Earth System Modeling Group is an informally organized group of researchers from several divisions within
CELS
who all work on various aspects of global earth system models.

Current Activities
- E3SM : We are part of this multi-lab project
developing an Earth System Model that will run efficiently on DOE supercomputers
and address DOE mission-relevant problems.
- ESGF2: We are contributing the redesign of ESGF
in the area of operations and community outreach.
- E3SM-MMF: We are part of this
Exascale Computing Project application working on GPU porting for Aurora and I/O.
- SEATS: We lead this pilot project to provide missing
standard specifications and software missing from earth system model analysis.
Prior Activities
- CANGA: We contributed to this project in the
areas of advanced remapping and time integration for new couplers.
